1000 Books Before Kindergarten-click to view the graduates

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a reading challenge to develop early literacy skills. Reading to your child is the best way to prepare him or her for future learning success. Reading aloud will help them:

  • become better readers,
  • build speech and language skills,
  • expand vocabulary,
  • strengthen listening skills,
  • help with grammar and correct sentence structure,
  • build attention spans,
  • encourage imagination & curiosity, and
  • provide them with the positive attention that all children crave.

The Reedsburg Public Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program can be started at any time with any child not yet in Kindergarten by registering in the Beanstack Tracker App. Adults keep track of the books read and children receive incentives along the way with a final prize of an educational card game. Graduates may also choose to have their photo featured in the Reedsburg Independent.

For more information, contact the Reedsburg Public Library at 768-READ/(7323).

Congratulations to our 1000 Books Graduates!
