Our Read-to-me Program is for pre-readers. Children participate with family members or friends who read stories to them and record the number of books in a reading folder. The reading goal for the Read-to-me Program is at least five books per week.
Our Reading Club is for independent readers through 5th grade who set their own summer reading goal. The independent readers record their book titles in their folders.
All children are encourage to come to the library weekly for stickers that mark their progress. A prize envelope with valuable coupons from local businesses will be awarded at the end of the program for reaching their reading goal. A list of the participating businesses can be located in the Children's Area of the Library.
Saturday, August 6th is the last day to turn in your
reading folders and collect your prize envelope.
Parents, caregivers, siblings and babies 0-24 months are welcome to join us in the Community Room for 45 minutes of books, songs, rhymes and free playtime. No need to register.

Junior Lunch Bunch
These storytimes are for families with preschoolers and their siblings. Everyone is invited to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to the Community Room for 45 minutes of stories, puppets and music. No need to register.

Morning Storytime
This is a "second helping" of Junior Lunch Bunch for families or daycare groups that may prefer storytime without the picnic lunch.

Preschool Players
This year will be celebrating our 9th season with the folktale, "The Enormous Turnip". Children ages 4 and 5 will rehearse the play on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and perform the production on Thursday evening in the Library's Community Room. Space is limited, so please register.

Performer, Mary Tooley and her program called "African Animal Tales" will kick off the Discovery programs for elementary age kids. Mary will feature true facts about African animals and a folk tale or tow on Thursday, June 16th.

The Reedsburg Public Library is thrilled to have a R.E.A.D. dog join the Summer Library Program on Thursday afternoons in the Storytime Room. Children of all ages are welcome to read to a dog that has been trained for this national literacy program.
Free movies will be shown on the big screen in the Library's Community Room Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. beginning June 13th.
The films will be rated G or PG. Check the movie posting board for each week's feature.

Help build a reading igloo from milk jugs that have been collected from the community. Jan Aslaksen from Cameron Aslaksen Architects will assist with the construction in the Children's Area of the Library. Other construction activities will also be available.

Diane Michaels will be presenting a Family Evening Concert at the Library. Her presentation is known for its multi-generational appeal and will have something for everyone. The Library is thrilled to host this multi-talented,local musician.

Worm Race Fun For Over 20 Years!
Worm Races and Fishing @ Plenke's Pond
Thursday, June 30 @ 6:30 PM: Plenke's Pond
The worm races will begin at 6:30pm at Plenke's Pond on Granite Avenue. Families are then invited to the catch and release fishing event at the privately owned pond. Please bring your own fishing equipment and bug repellant. Worms for racing and fishing will be provided.
Family Craft Night

Family Wii Nights

The Library will provide two Wii systems for families to enjoy bowling,ski jumping, hula hooping and other Wii fun.
Family Carnival of Countries Night

The entire family is invited to discover the world with their Reedsburg neighbors. People from the area will be setting up stations throughout the Library to highlight games, activities, food and information from countries around the world.
Kids of all ages and their families can discover "One World, Many Stories" in Loganville as we take the Reedsburg Public Library's Summer Library Program on the road. Be ready for crafts, stories and book check-out.
