Our Read-to-me Program is for pre-readers. Children participate with family members or friends who read stories to them and record the number of books in a reading folder.
Our Reading Club is for independent readers through 5th grade who set their own summer reading goal. The independent readers record their book titles in their folders.
All children are encourage to come to the library weekly for stickers that mark their progress. A prize envelope with valuable coupons from local businesses will be awarded at the end of the program for reaching their reading goal. A list of the participating businesses can be located in the Children's Area of the Library.
Saturday, August 1st is the last day to turn in your
reading folders and collect your prize envelope.
Parents, caregivers, siblings and babies 0-24 months are welcome to join us in the Community Room for 45 minutes of books, songs, rhymes and free playtime.
No need to register.

Junior Lunch Bunch
These storytimes are for families with preschoolers and their siblings. Everyone is invited to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to the Community Room for 45 minutes of stories, puppets and music. No need to register.

Morning Storytime
This is a "second helping" of Junior Lunch Bunchsay for anyone who
prefers storytime without the picnic lunch.

Kids of all ages and their families can "Be Creative" in Loganville as we take the Reedsburg Public Library on the road. Be ready for crafts, stories and book check-out.

Preschool Players
This year's production is a play based on the book "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh. This is the 7th season that interested 4 and 5 year olds will rehearse on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon followed by the performances on Thursday evening in the Library's Community Room. Space is limited, so please register.

Registration is required for these one hour programs that are held in the Library's Community Room on Thursday: June 18,25, July 9,16 and 23. Look for the sign-up sheets in the Children's Area. Each week will highlight one of these creative topics: music, dance, theater, books and art.
Reedsburg Readers- Book Discussion Group
Join this book club for an exciting time of book related activities. Bring your library card to each meeting so you can check out the next book to be discussed. Space is limited, so please register.

Needles & Hooks- Stitching Club
Every Monday (3-4 p.m. )
All ages are welcome to join. This club is for all skill levels of knitting, crocheting, or any other stitching type craft. This weekly hour in the Library’s Community Room will be a great time to get together with others who like to stitch. Beginners welcome!
Create "Land Art" at the Hartje Center: Thursday, June 11 @ 6:30 p.m. (Hartje Center)
Join Gary Williams for an informational evening about the plant and wild life at the Hartje Center. Families will have the opportunity to create a "land art" project and photos of their artistic creations will on display at the library.
Performers: Fox & Branch: Thursday, June 25 @ 6:30 p.m. (Rec Center)
Dave Fox and Will Branch will perform family folk music. Their show includes sing-along, fiddle tunes and the opportunity for children to try the washboard and the limberjack, a traditional Appalachian toy.
Storytime Yoga: Thursday, July 2 @ 6:30 p.m. (Library's Community Room)
Kris Houtler will introduce families to yoga through a story. Wear comfortable clothes.
Low Ropes Course at Lower Hartje Center: Thursday, July 9 @ 6:30 p.m. (Hartje Center)
Challenge your family and build cooperation on the low ropes course. Families will have the chance to walk across a suspended rope, swing from the trees and "walk with a beam".
Worm Race: Thursday, July 23 @ 6:30 p.m. (Rec. Center)
Worm racing has been part of the Summer Library Program for 17 years! In celebration we are inviting all families to the Rec. Center to be part of this fun event. Worms and snack will be provided.
Baby Signs Workshop: Thursday, July 30 @ 6:30 p.m. (Library's Storytime Room)
Come one, come all, to a night of sign language for babies. Whether you are just beginning or are an old pro, come share your thoughts and learn some signs.
Family Carnival Night: Thursday, August 13th@ 6-8 p.m. (Recreation Center)
What a great way to wrap up the Summer Library Program. The entire family is invited to join us for games, crafts, prizes and other "Be Creative @ Your Library" surprises.
Family Geocaching Day: Thursday, August 20 @ 6:30 p.m. (Hartje Center)
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure. Caches are hidden in the Hartje Learning Center and families use GPS (Global Positioning System) units to locate the treasures. GPS units will be provided or families can use their own.
End of the Summer Family Movie Night: Thursday, August 27 @ 6:30 p.m. (Library)
Join other families in watching a family movie the week before school resumes. Bring pillows and blankets to be comfortable on the Library's Community Room floor. You may also bring a snack for your family.
Movie Mondays
Elementary age children are invited to watch a movie in the Library's Community Room every Monday afternoon at 1p.m. beginning June 15th. Each film will be rated G or PG. Check the movie posting board for each week's feature film.
