Services By Appointment

Due to high rates of active Covid infections in Sauk County and surrounding areas, Reedsburg Public Library is changing to a limited service model. This change is an effort to provide a safer environment for library staff and the public by reducing contact and ensuring that we are able to properly disinfect spaces. 

Beginning Monday, November 16, the library building will be closed to the public, except for the services listed below:

Curbside Pickup
You can self-schedule pick-up of available holds by using Capira, or you can contact the library at 608-768-7323 to request materials and schedule your pick-up.

Computer Use and Business Service by appointment.

  • A limited number of computers are available in the library for 1-hour appointments.
  • 30-minute appointments are available for printing, copying and faxing as well as browsing.  

Call 608-768-7323 for an appointment.  All individuals entering the library must wear a mask that covers the nose mouth and chin at all times while in the library.  Screening questions will be asked prior to entry.

Virtual Library
Online Resources, Book Return and Online Programming are available 24/7.  Scheduling of appointments and reference service by phone are available during our regular library hours.  Wireless Internet is available outside the library 24/7.

Returns
Returns may be made in the after hours book drop on the Locust Street side of the building.  The lobby book drop is open during posted library hours. Please allow up to 4 days for items to be checked in.  Fines have been temporarily suspended for all materials checked out at the Reedsburg Public Library.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Limited Services" mean?
Limited services means that the library is temporarily changing how we provide service in the library.  We are continuing to provide access to regular services such as computer use, copying, faxing, study rooms and even browsing by appointment only.  Contactless curbside pick-up of materials is available during all our open hours. 

Why are you limiting access to the building?
Given the high amount of COVID-19 activity in our area at this time, we are encouraging our users to stay home and stay safe.  Since we understand that access to library services and materials are important to our users, we are adjusting services to continue serving our community, while trying to maintain a safer environment for library staff and our visitors.  Limiting the number of people in the building, the duration of visits and the services provided helps to keep the potential for contact with infected individuals low.  It also allows us to properly disinfect areas and surfaces in the library between users.  

How do I make an appointment?
To schedule a curbside pickup for available holds, you can visit our Capira Curbside site to schedule pick-up or call the library at 608-768-7323 to schedule your pick-up.
To request materials, you may log in to the library catalog, LINKcat, and place holds or call the library for assistance at 608-768-7323.
To request to use a study room, contact the library at 608-768-7323, or schedule your appointment online HERE.
To schedule a computer appointment, an appointment for copying and faxing, browsing or other service, please call 608-768-7323 during our regular hours.

What do I do when I arrive for my appointment?
Upon arrival to the library you may enter the lobby.  Use your cell phone or the lobby phone located to the left of the interior doors to call the library at 608-768-7323.
The staff will ask screening questions, and open the interior doors for you to enter. 
    It is very important that you answer the screening questions honestly.  If you or a member of your household is ill, you must cancel or reschedule your appointment.

When will you reopen normally?
We are unsure when the Library will fully reopen at this time. We are working within State and Local Health recommendations to keep our community safe.

When can I pick up holds?
Holds Pick-up is available via contactless curbside pick up, or in the library by reservation.

Are there any restrictions?
- Individuals who are unable to wear a mask should utilize contactless services.  
     If a patron is unable to wear a mask and requires ADA accommodations, the library will make reasonable attempts to provide service upon request.
- Any visitor who displays respiratory or other symptoms may be asked to leave for the safety of others.
- Computer appointments are limited to 1 hour
- Business services and browsing appointments are limited to 30 minutes

I missed my pick-up.  Can I still get my holds?
If you missed your pick-up, please call the library to reschedule.  If we don't hear from you within 48 hours, the materials will be checked in and returned to the shelves or to fill the next hold for the item(s).

Can I order materials from other libraries?  
Yes.  SCLS Delivery Is operating 5 days per week.  Due to the need to quarantine materials for safety and restricted hours and services at some libraries, it may take some time to get things from other locations.

I called and left a message/emailed a request, but haven’t heard back yet.  Should I call/email again?  
No, that is not necessary. Depending on the volume of calls/emails, it may take some time for staff to return messages and to fill holds. Be assured, staff is working hard to fill hold requests as quickly as possible.  If you have not heard back from us in 48 hours, please do try to contact us again. 

Can I return materials?
- Returns should be placed in the outside book drop located on the Locust St. side of the building.
- The lobby book drop is open during our regular hours
- Fines have been temporarily suspended for items checked out at the Reedsburg Library.

When are my items due?  
You can check your account via LinkCAT or call the library to inquire about due dates or to renew materials.

What about my fines?  
All materials are temporarily being checked in fine free.  If you have older fines, lost or damaged fines or other charges, you may make an appointment to pay in the libary.  Fine amounts over $10.00 can be paid online.  Log into your account on LINKcat and go to your Dashboard for details.

How are returned items handled?
All returns are quarantined for a minimum of 96 hours before being handled by library staff.
Staff are wearing masks and regularly washing and sanitizing hands and surfaces as they work.
